· Do you like a deckle edge (looks like hand torn) or straight edges?
· Thicker or light weight paper
· Traditional rectangle shape, square, flat or folded
· Motif or not? Can unify all of your printed pieces
Letterpress
· Same basic cost as engraving
· Usually paper is heavier and textured
· Type is pressed into the paper and gives a more
“hand-made” look
Engraved
· Text is etched into a metal plate
· Produces a crisp, raised type
· White ink engraves beautifully on dark paper
Thermography
· Gives the “look” of engraving but more cost effective
· Can sometimes look “shiny” if not printed correctly
Labels:
deckle edge,
engraving,
invitation printing,
letterpress,
thermography
